Application procedure

A “continuously – open” mechanism will be applied to gather/select proposals but, as a general rule, applicant(s) should submit their proposal between two to six months before they wish to begin their visit. Depending on responses to the Calls and the available budget, the call is foreseen to be open until 6 months before the end of project.

Please note that the final deadlines for applications have now been announced:

1st stage application deadline: 31 October 2015

2nd stage application deadline: 30 November 2015

1st stage application (eligibility phase)

Applicants are requested to first submit a short proposal (pre-application form) via the Trees4Future website. This will automatically be sent to the TA Coordination Team, as well as to the site manager of the relevant TA facility.

At this stage the eligibility of the proposed access and the feasibility of the proposed work (in consultation with the Trees4Future facility/site) will be evaluated. We aim to inform candidates within 2 weeks of the outcome of the eligibility phase. If the outcome is positive, candidates will be asked to get in touch with the site manager of the Trees4Future facility/site concerned before completing the full application form.

2nd stage application (full proposal)

Further information about the access offered by the TA facilities can be found on the Trees4Future website.

2nd stage application form

Details of how to complete the 2nd stage application form.

A User Selection Panel (USP) composed of the TA Coordination Team and two external reviewers (experts in the field) will evaluate the access proposals. Following the initial review by the USP the proposal will be sent to the Executive Committee of Trees4Future, which will give its final decision on the proposed access.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of the evaluation by the USP within 6 weeks from the date of submission of the 2nd Stage Application. In the case of a negative response, the reasons for the decision will be provided and possibly suggestions for improvement for resubmission.
