The Tropical Research Institute of Portugal is a State Laboratory in the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education. It has a 60-year tradition in forest products and wood science research including wood characterization for optimized utilization, and in the last 10 years has developed competencies in high-throughput non-destructive assessment of wood physical and chemical properties.
