The Forestry Research Centre at CRA (CRA SEL) develops research in forestry as silviculture, forest tree framing, ecology and on breeding, improvement, management and conservation of forest genetic resources (FGR). CRA SEL maintains a network of national and international field networks at southern European latitudes. It coordinates activities at national level and international networks such as FAO Silva Mediterranea – WG 4 “Forest Genetic Resources in the Mediterranean Region“ and IUFRO WP 20213 on FGR of Mediterranean Conifers; it is a partner within the EC project Treebreedex.
