Bavarian Office for Forest Seeding and Planting
The ASP is a special agency within the Bavarian Forestry Administration, operating in the field of forest reproductive material (FRM). The institution combines genetic laboratory research, field trials, conservation of forest gene resources and the practical implementation of law on forest reproductive material. The ASP was involved in the development of the first certification system for FRM put into practice in Germany (ZüF). It is based on genetic comparisons of reference samples and an internet-based data management.
